There’s that angel assigned to me (poor thing)
That’s the best one of them angels
And the best of angels is quite a thing.
Immeasurable goodness.
Unfathomable for us 4 dimensional things.
So I got that angel assigned to me
With the best heart an angel can get
To guide my steps through life
To put right answers into my mouth
To walk by me and to lift my backpack when it’s full
And to lift me a little when I’m down.
To lift my head
And remove stones from my path
Add grace to my gait
To pour words into my human heart
Which I then pour out.
To catch objects I drop
Heal people I hurt
Or even better – prevent the hurt beforehand.
So I got that angel assigned to me
The best of them all.
To caress my hair at night
And play songs in my head
And try, really hard, really hard.
Poor thing!
He deserved a better human.
Someone who’d leave him free time.
Someone not so high maintenance,
Someone unlike me, someone less of what I am.
But, there’s that angel I got assigned to.
The best one of them all.
